PC Booster
RegistryBooster is a tool commonly known as ”Registry cleaner“, that is supposed to repair or remove harmful registry entries in the registry to optimize the PC. As with all such tools, there are several risks involved with running such a program, such as it removing valid entries in the registry rendering the OS useless. RegistryBooster takes a backup before making any changes to the registry.
This separate paragraph attests to serious defects in the Uniblue Registry Cleaner. After needing urgently cleaning to be done during a development cycle, and suspecting it might not be done, a controlled experiment was run:

• An Initial clean was done, with numerous errors reported. This was expected.
• The registry showed a number of entries, created during development, with no files corresponding to the directory entries.
• A second clean was done. The cleaner reported no errors found.
• The registry showed that those prior entries still existed, even though there were no files existing corresponding to the entries.

This may be verified by creating files which will be reflected in the registry, checking that they are there, then deleting them and running the cleaner.
Registry Booster has been seen to have certain scareware and rogue-like behaviors which may put a user at risk.^{[1]
